American Girl

Sweater: Thrifted (Value Village), Jeans: Cheap Monday, Flats: GAP, Men's Watch: Wal-Mart

It's a sweater like those teddy bears in the 90's wore, or do they still wear those? Do you know what I'm talking about? I feel so patriotic wearing it is a very 90's cropped sweater, even better!

Very 70's/mom jeans. One of the first times I wore these jeans two years ago to the bar the students went to dance at where I went to school, I was the one in my group that did not get "grinded" on. I was so thankful and I think it was the power of these man repelling jeans! Note: That was the first and only time I have/ever will set foot into that gross place.

Be safe! I'm off to bake vegan red velvet cupcakes for a New Year's Eve Masquerade party!

Total Waist

Hi ya! I hope some of you hit up "After Christmas Sales" and bought candy half-off! I bought a lot of peppermint bark and a popcorn tin, two things I love and could eat year round. Yum!  I also picked up these pants for $4.95 at Urban Outfitters and they are quite comfortable.
Cashmere sweater: Versace (Beacon's Closet in Williamsburg), Pants: UO, Tights: Nicole Miller, Shoes: GAP
I love hi-waisted bottoms, but I feel like they look odd on me because I am short-waisted (the distance between my shoulders and natural waist is a much shorter distance than the average person) and for a short/petite (I'm 5'2 1/2 or 5'3 on a good day) person, majority of my body is made up of leg. I think I am at the point where I am over it and am just going to wear what I love and feel comfortable, as it should be. I encourage you all to dress that way, too. Be happy, be you.

Mrs. Claus/Ms. Frizzle

Merry Christmas! I hope today has brought you and yours much happiness and that your holiday wishes have come true! This Christmas has surpassed all of my expectations! I received a new camera ( and several other amazing gifts, I have no idea why.) Hooray!
Cardigan: Goodwill, Tank: Taken from my friend Gina, Skirt: American Apparel, Tights: Nicole Miller, Boots: Vintage (No Relation Vintage) Earrings: Vintage (inherited from my Grandma)

The earrings are clusters of limes! How fun is that? I felt like I needed to add a touch of green to my outfit, and these earrings are wonderfully bizarre.

Goofin'

Check out the embroidery on this cardigan. It is beautiful! Plus it's an angora/wool blend, so soft and warm. Until next time...

Delayed

Oh, goodness it has been forever! I have been busy, visiting friends in Atlanta and Statesboro and going to Savannah, all the times I went without a camera. I have been freezing, so I've been layering my tights and jeans.  AND! I've started knitting a huge Rodarte inspired cardigan! I am so excited about this piece and on top of that I have two friends to knit hats for, they'll get them soon.

pieces of my cardigan

I picked up these two pins at goodwill this past weekend. (I collect pins and brooches.)
Hopefully, I will back to posting regularly again and not be boring.

Layerrs

I went outside once today, and that was to check the  mail. It didn't get above 38 degrees, and it was gloomy out, like it wanted to snow, but couldn't. I hope it does snow soon!
Sweater: H&M, Leggings: Uniqlo, Boots: Frye Paige Cuff

Tank: T.J. Maxx, Plaid Flannel: My Dad

This sweater tunic really makes you appear larger, that is why I mainly just wear it when lounging around the house and in general being lazy, plus the only reason I have the boots on is because I checked the mail, thick men's camper socks from Jack's 99 Cents Store in N.Y.C are worn on the feet.

Please do keep warm, it's turning frosty out there.

Riding Nowhere

Sweater: F21, Riding Pants: Chelsea Flea Market (tag reads Bergdorf Goodman) Boots: Frye Paige Cuff, Lucite Bangle: Vintage, Polka Dot Bangle: Claire's (represent middle school!)
Promptly after I finished shooting today, my camera died, well the lens broke or got bent or something. I don't know, it's just an old point & shoot. Maybe I'll get a new one for Christmas, until then I guess I'll have to start using my brother's point & shoot, he never uses it anyway.

Coat: UO (from 6 or 7 years ago)
Angry looks because of the frigid weather or maybe I knew what was about to happen to my trusty camera from the last 4 years, who knows?!

How-tos & Shopping Guides

Since I basically spent all day in a jeans and sweatshirt, I have decided to share a few of my favorite how-tos and guides with you guys. I figured the hair articles would be great for holiday parties (I hope to try the beehive this weekend!) and the guides to eyeglasses (I'm in the market for a new pair currently) and online shopping sites would help you complete your holiday shopping.

A Splash Of Color

Earrings: F21, Shirt: Target, Skirt: American Apparel, Sweater: I don't remember (it's from 9th grade, aka 9 years ago,) Tights: Hue, Flats: GAP

I'm not sure what happened to the belt that came with this sweater, so I took the the tie off of a sweater dress and threw it on, I think it gives a nice contrast, right?

Hahaha, I make the worst faces. After 23 years, you would think I would know how to work it, but I haven't figured it out yet. I am so sorry.

Ruffled

Cardigan: Vintage Lacoste/Izod (mom wore it in the '80s), Silk Top: J.Crew, Jeans: Vintage (from Clothing Warehouse in Savannah) Clog Heels: Bongo, Angora Socks: T.J. Maxx, Purse: Rag-o-Rama

Bam! Heels during the day and causal! It's so cold today that my my hands and nose started going numb today while I was shooting. Ahh!

My forehead and eyebrows came out to play today and my hair is so long and heavy, that within ten minutes my bun was falling. Aw man!

Have a great Wednesday!

Airplanes & Rainy Days

sweater: F21 (from 2 years ago) tank: Old Navy, jeans: levis, boots: vintage (from No Relation Vintage in NYC)
I feel like I am always talking about the weather on here, actually, I know I am. It's honestly the main factor in what I wear that day. I don't want to be too hot or cold or get caught in a storm unprepared. It's rainy and cool today, so I'm wearing a three-quartered length sweater with jeans and boots, big surprise. I promise I wear more than jeans, I haven't been much in a skirt and dress mood lately, which is really odd.

Did any of you go shopping this weekend? I didn't feel well, so I stayed home and shopped online and I am almost done! Earliest ever! I'm usually done a day or two before Christmas, but not this year! What amazing deal did you score on?

I made these two bracelets from a bass string two years ago. My friend Gina and I were visiting another friend who worked at a music store in the town where I attended college. A bass string broke while we there, and I took the string and fashioned these two bracelets out of it, he soldered the silver for me, since I didn't work there/didn't know how. Voila!

Good luck "Cyber Monday" shopping!

My uncle who lives near Hershey, PA gave my family this today. It's 2 pounds! Oh my goodness! I hope your Thanksgiving was amazing! More style/fashion-y posts to continue this weekend.

Summer in November

Ok, November I really don't understand. 80 degrees during Thanksgiving week? Umm...ok. That's south Georgia for you, I guess.  I opted for a season appropriate colored skirt, and shoes with a basic white tee.

tee: Fruit of the Loom (yeahhh!) skirt: American Apparel, moccasins: UO, necklace: gift

Tomorrow, I'm attempting to bake a pumpkin cheesecake for my family's Thanksgiving festivities on Thursday. Oh, goodness I'm so nervous about it! I have always wanted to learn how to make one, so here is my chance!

Boutiques.com

I mentioned this site in my last post, boutiques.com. It launched last week and I think it's great, especially when you are searching for a specific item, like a party dress or a black boot that fits your style. You answer a few questions about colors, silhouettes, and designers that you love and hate and Voila!  Instant clothing that you'll probably die for!

Nanook 2010

I discovered these Diane von Furstenburg hats on boutiques.com a few days ago and fell in love! I feel a D.I.Y. happening before the year's end.

From Thursday

Shirt: Target, Necklace: F21, Jeans: Levis, Shoes: Bass Weejuns

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away

Shirt: GAP, Tank: BDG, Jeans: Hudson, Necklace: F21
These are from yesterday, and The Beatles are now on iTunes as of yesterday. I feel like everyone who wanted to listen to The Beatles could have just bought a cd cheaper in store compared to iTunes or pirated it like the rest of America. (Note: I do NOT endorse pirating.)
Blazer: Goodwill (worn 3 posts ago) Boots: Frye Paige cuff (worn several post ago)

I'm going out of town tomorrow for the weekend (Harry Potter midnight showing!) but I am going to try to keep posting while I am away. I think I can manage.

Dressed-Up With No Where To Go

The past few trips I've made to Atlanta, I've bought these two dresses.

Vintage & Handmade from Rag-O-Rama

This vintage wool dress reminds me of a Marc by Marc Jacobs dress.

Yellow is Gold by Sunshine & Shadow from UO

This wool strapless dress is timeless.  Now, I just need to gain the social life these two dresses require or just throw sweaters over them, pair them with boots and go about my business.

Prep School Days

It's so warm today! Thus, no tights.
Blazer: Goodwill (little boys section) Shirt: Converse One Star (via Plato's Closet) Skirt: UO
Loafers: Bass Weejuns

Rings: F21 & tourist shop on Tybee

If you follow me on twitter, you've probably noticed me complaining about my brown nail polish (Essie's Little Brown Dress) and how I'm not sure if this relationship was going to last. Three days later, it's still on my nails. It's turned brown-er over those three days, it just appeared to be an odd black for the longest time, now me and my little brown dress nails are happy.

Happy Friday!

The Not-So Secret Garden

I'm bacckk! House sitting in Atlanta was fun, it was cold, I was sick and I hung out with a friends that I haven't seen in a while, and they were all boys! Ridiculous.
Here's what I'm wearing today.

Top: UO, Cami: H&M, Jeans: Paper Denim & Cloth Natalie, Shoes: Tara Subkoff for Espirit, Bag: Lucky Brand via Buffalo Exchange, Ring: Marc Jacobs Lola

This top has a really sweet lace pattern on the back.

It's really warm back in south Georgia compared to the temperatures in Atlanta. I'm sure that's why I'm almost well. I love cold weather, but my body doesn't.
